Dr. Larry Koenig

Dr. Koenig earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA, in 2003.

He completed his residency training in general surgery at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, MD, where he was chief resident. Dr. Koenig received fellowship training in vascular surgery at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. His fellowship research activities included studies identifying a genetic variant associated with abdominal aortic aneurysm. He is in the process of obtaining board certification from the American Board of Surgery — Vascular Surgery.

Dr. Koenig joined Virginia Interventional and Vascular Associates (VIVA) and its parent group, Radiologic Associates of Fredericksburg, in 2010. At VIVA, he focuses on minimally invasive and traditional surgical treatments, including carotid endarterectomy, carotid stenting, abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, lower extremity bypass, endovascular procedures, aortic stent-grafts, renal artery stenting, radiofrequency ablation for varicose veins, and sclerotherapy for spider veins.

He is a member of the Society of Vascular Surgery and Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery.
