As a child, Dr. Koenig was always fascinated by discovering how things work. That is what guided his journey in studying science and math in college. He received his undergraduate degree in chemical engineering and earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College. “Becoming a surgeon gave me the opportunity to use my hands and my mind to solve problems. I found a career that reminded me of the deconstructing and rebuilding of things that I loved as a kid.”
Dr. Koenig lives in Spotsylvania with his wife and two children. His free time is mostly spent at his children’s sporting events and extracurricular activities.
